Based in East Grinstead on the East Sussex, West Sussex Border Seishin offers training in the art of Iaido which is based on the drawing and using of the Japanese or samurai sword. We train on Tuesday nights at Imberhorne School starting at 7.30 to 9.15. Due to the nature of Iaido it is ideally suited to men and women of any age and in any state of fitness.

What is Iaido

Iaido can be described as the art of the Japanese Sword and is a non-combative martial art that involves no direct physical contact or combat with other individuals. It is suitable for both men and women.

There are many styles of Iaido, most of which date back hundreds of years. The style taught here at Seishin is known as Muso Shinden Ryu.
